Singapore

Singapore is a truly inspiring place where East meets West, Asian heritage blends with modernity and sophistication happily co-exists with nature. Singapore has traded in its rough-and-ready opium dens and pearl luggers for towers of concrete and steel, its steamy rickshaw imagery for hi-tech wizardry, and its contraband deals for shopping bargains. These days it's known for its fantastic shopping, euphoria-provoking cuisine, friendly people and a mega-clean super-safe habitat and when you've had enough city you can escape to a park. It's also truly multicultural - where else can you explore slices of India, China, Malaysia and the Arabic world within a 10km radius? I was here during March 1993 & also in November 2003.
