Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur page 1 of 3
page updated - September 2005

Malaysia's bustling capital, Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant city, mixing western influence with eastern culture, amid skyscrapers and historic buildings. A shoppers' paradise, Kuala Lumpur offers huge variety of fantastic shopping including modern complexes, roadside stalls, China Town, central or night markets.

The vibrant and cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur promises to unleash the shopper and explorer in everyone. Let your Ringgits fly and catch great bargains in return. Shopping in Kuala Lumpur is satisfaction guaranteed, with everything for everyone. Kuala Lumpur's luxurious hotels and resorts will even shuttle shoppers to shopping malls, while other hotels and resorts are linked-up to prestigious shopping outlets!

I first visited Kuala Lumpur during March 1993; and then again in September 2005. Photos from both trips are shown:

Merdeka Square (Independance Square) - Oddly named since this wasn't where Malaysia gained independence at all, but the square used to be (and still is on occasion) the city's cricket square outside the mock-Tudor Royal Selangor Club.
