The Pacific - the Cook Islands page 1 of 5

The Cook Islands consist of 15 islands scattered over 850,000 square miles of the pacific, close to the center of the Polynesian triangle. Rarotonga is the largest of the Cook Islands and offers a Mecca for rest and relaxation.

One of the best tropical destinations the world is starting to discover, offering the traveler a small, accessible country with distinctive warmth and hospitality. The Cook Islands have attitude - true relaxed Polynesia. You'll feel part of their family, a place where every visitor is treated as a friend.

I spent five days in this tropical paradise in late October / early November 2005. Although most of my 5-day stay was spent in meetings and inspecting various properties in and around Rarotonga - I did manage to wangle some free time on Aitutaki (described by many as the Pacific's prettiest atoll) & on a small motu called "One Foot Island" where I soaked up the sun. An afternoon here felt like a lifetime away from the cares of the world!
